HONORARY DOCTORATE TO OUR DIRECTOR
We are pleased to inform you that on 06.10.2010, CPArts’ Founder Director Rev.Fr.N.M.Saveri(Xavier) was awarded an Honorary Doctorate (Ph.D.,h.c.)By the University of Jaffna in recognition of his unique service in the fields of Education, Culture and the Arts.
He is an academic by training with the following Degrees: B.TH.,L.TH.(Rome), Pulavar (Madurai) , M.A. , Ph.D. (London) ,D.TH.(Passau-Germany).
It is worthy of note that he was appointed a Council member of the University of Visual and Performing Arts, Colombo, by the University Grants Commission in 2005.
He continues to teach Indian (Saiva) Philosophy at St.Francis Xavier’s Major Seminary, Jaffna.
This latest award is a fitting tribute to our Director, Fr.Saveri, who has been called by a media writer in the Catholic Messenger as “the living apostle of unity between the Sinhala and Tamil communities by his internationally famous Performing Arts.”
