Project Officer participated in Exchange for Peace
programme in Switzerland
CPArts Project Officer Francis Solomentine, participated in Exchange for Peace programme was held at Switzerland from 1st to 15th October 2006. 26 young leaders from Afghanistan, Iran, Kosovo, Macedonia, Nepal, Niger, Sri Lanka, Sudan and USA met in the fourth exCHANGE FOR PEACE (www.ecfp.org) seminar in Switzerland.
During two weeks he stayed in Zürich, Filzbach, Caux and Baden and participated in workshops on "Sport for Peace Promotion and Development". Solomen met representatives of the State of Switzerland and of Swiss NGOs, visited the parliament session in Flims, the UEFA in Nyon, the UN and the Museum of the Red Crescent and Red Cross Movement in Geneva. And above he had time to get to know each other, to abolish preconceptions and to exchange views on their countries, cultures and problem solving strategies.
He was one of the three participants from Sri Lanka and was selected by Helvetas-Sri Lanka to participate in this event.
